Google on Wednesday announced Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro has been launched.  These new Pixel devices are available for pre-order in which Google has also offered a discount of $400.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are powered by the Google Tensor G3 processor, with 8GB of RAM on the Pixel 8 and 12GB of RAM on the Pro variant.  

These phones will get seven years of software updates, which include Android OS upgrades, security updates, and regular feature drops.

Additionally, Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch Actua display with up to 1,400 nits peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate.  The Pixel 8 Pro features a 6.7-inch Super Actua display with a peak brightness of 2,400 nits and a 1:120Hz refresh rate.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have a 50MP main camera.  The vanilla model has a 12MP ultrawide sensor.  Pixel 8 Pro has a 48MP ultrawide lens and a 48MP telephoto sensor.  Both the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro have the same 10.5MP selfie lens.

How do You Qualify for the $400 Discount?

To qualify for the $400 discount, you must do all of the following:

1. Buy equipment or currently be in a group plan with the purchaser.
2. Activate the phone on an existing full-service plan within 30 days of shipment confirmation (data-only SIMs are not eligible).
3. Be active and in good standing on a qualifying device for 120 consecutive days.  Stopping, changing, or suspending the account will void the promotion.
4. The discounted price will be automatically applied during checkout. If you do not meet the above conditions, your Google Pay account will be charged $400.
